Compliments of The Season folks… or should I say ‘Seasons Greetings”. Funny how these phrases seem to be replacing the traditional greeting for the season. The trending one now I believe is “happy holidays”. And what exactly does that mean anyway “happy holidays”? Some people have even gone as far as replacing the word “Christmas” with “Xtmas” thereby removing Christ from the equation. All these felicitations gradually seem to be replacing the real thing “Merry Christmas”. I smell a conspiracy in all this and I’m here to tell you it won’t work. Christmas is not about the holidays or thanksgiving but it’s all about celebrating the birth of Jesus, our saviour. So please stop with all these felicitations that try to distort that fact. There I said it. So sue me! Slow deep breaths folks. No hyperventilating now… lol. So shouting on top of my voice right now…. “MERRY CHRISTMAS” everyone.
Having said that, so sorry guys but I haven’t got a movie for you this week. Why? Because there’s too much happening this weekend to stay home watching a movie. What’s happening you say?
First of we’ve got “Mega Mindset” the Excellerate Conference and Discount Fair on Saturday 12th of December. The conference comes with stands for mega businesses and soon to be mega businesses to show off their products and services, a business seminar for entrepreneurs and a discount fair with 50% slash off everything; electronics, clothing & fashion accessories, provisions & sundries, just name it. Definitely better than black Friday. The seminar also includes a “Growth Launch Fund” that will assist up to 40 micro-business owners in accessing loans for their companies; great opportunity for entrepreneurs to get off to a great start in 2016. It promises to be a great day for the whole family; mummies can do their Christmas shopping at great discount prices while daddies attend the seminars to grow their businesses and the little ones aren’t left out with bouncing castles, great rides, unending funfair while the parents go about their stuff. And it’s all happening at David’s Christian Centre, opposite NEPA bus stop by Fatgbems Filling Station, Amuwo by 9am.
The next day Sunday the 13th, we’ve got a rad musical titled “The Lion King” a Stage Musical Drama by teenagers for teenagers. It’s also a Carol Service for the teens as well, so all my rad teenagers definitely don’t want to miss this. Venue is at the Mainland Centre of David’s Christian Centre, Fatgbems Filling Station by 4pm. Admission is free but strictly for the teens. For enquiries please call 08030442478 or 08033601420. You can definitely catch yours truly there.
Then later on that same Sunday, for all yah that missed “Ekan” on the mainland last week, it’s off to the Island for another breathtaking show at David’s Christian Centre, Elegushi roundabout, Lekki by 5pm. You know the drill, call these numbers 08028356363, 08077714411 for your tickets. Guess now you understand why it’s gonna be a tad difficult to catch a movie, besides we’ll be having too much fun to care anyways.
But back to Tuesday’s question, how come no one seems to know the answer. So it’s true then that it’s easy to answer questions about Hollywood then about our own film industry. You can get every info you need about Hollywood on the net…. guess we can’t say the same about naija movies. Come on guys! Help me out here, I’m dying to know to know the title of the movie. Perhaps Jollyhood could add another freebie as more incentive…uh? Ok let’s give it another try.
“The person you killed is died.”
Waiting in anticipation for your answers folks. Do have a great weekend and hopefully we can do it together at these great events. Till next time, remember don’t stop watching the movies… lol. I know! After this weekend then. Be good!
